Navigating retirement amid short-term strain
Many families are struggling to make ends meet in America today. Research has found that about half of families make less than is needed to get by, and many have a dim view of the country’s economic prospects. With so many short-term pressures, one might assume that longer-term planning, such as retirement, would be out of reach. But people are complex, and so are their finances. SaverLife’s recent report surveyed 1,400 SaverLife members and found that most want to save for retirement, despite other financial pressures. Our report discusses the survey findings, shedding light on the realities of saving for retirement and pointing to interconnected policies, programs, and products that can support greater financial security for SaverLife members and millions like them across the country.
