I lost my job right before the pandemic. I fought the hostile work environment and I lost…everything. I wanted to be treated fairly; not lied to by my bosses, not made to feel crazy when I called out the lies. Unfortunately, when some one has the power to make or break you, you had better do what they want, fair, legal, or not. Forget about your rights, they don't give a damn. They just need to know that you know you are under their thumb. That was my downfall; I knew their power trip, but I wiggled, squeeked, shifted, and dodged their egos and trips; I wasn't going to give them satisfaction for treating me less than. I fought for my rights every step of the way because I knew I was good at what I was doing for them. I didn't know that wasn't enough to stay; I had to be susceptible to the gaslighting they subjected me to. I found out when I went over their head to the big boss, only to find that the way they treated me and their gas-lit tactics wasn't a deal-breaker. They were the big bosses' right hand and could do no wrong. I lost that fight, but I kept my self-respect. If only self-respect paid the bills.
The pandemic hit like a ton of bricks. I felt like Wily Coyote being hit by an anvil; dazed etching the translucent, birds tweeting and flying around the crown of my broken head. It felt so surreal like we were all in a bad B-movie, where a zombie apocalypse ensued, including the entire country, & our "fearless" leader was a massively insecure, psychopathic, spineless twirp with a power trip problem; the biggest ever recorded. His name is Donald Trump. This was our fake & cowardly leader/ the biggest Zombie of them all. We are doomed. Our would-be a hero is a villain. This is the worst move EVER!!!
