In order to start saving. You first have to learn how to budget, Eliminate things that you don’t need and go from there to saving.

Automate your savings by having a portion of your paycheck deposited directly into savings. Or have reoccurring transfers made to your savings. As you earn or free up more money you can raise the amount you save.

Sinking funds got me on my way. I cannot save money for the sake of saving money. Just not wired that way. But I can save for a specific purpose. If I have a big expense coming up, I allocate a set amount of money to put into savings every pay day. If there's ever a moment when I'm tempted to dip into it, I have to ask myself which is more important? The thing I'm saving for or whatever's right in front of me. 99% of the time the thing I'm saving for wins that battle. I started doing this for every expense I have. Now, every penny that comes into my possession is stamped with a purpose. My savings have grown exponentially using this method.

Pay yourself first. When you get your bi-weekly direct deposit get a percentage and deposit it in a separate Savings account

Get a separate savings account from your checking account, in a different bank. I find it easier having a different bank for savings cause that way I cant transfer money between the checking and savings. I don't link the banks together either so i dont find it easy to transfer the money.

I get paid monthly I put a little of it in my saving lt help I also do a lot of survey the money I get from them go into my saving

I use a financial budget notebook that you can get at the store and it helps budget out bills and such.

Save your change in a jar at home. Only get what you need. Not what you want

How are you all able to save during the pandemic? Myself and my husband are both trying to get our unemployment benefits back. With 3 small children, our savings were depleted last year. And are relying on family and friends primarily until we can get back to work
