How to cure boredom but also save money while out of work due to pandemic?
What I have been doing is focus on a room to tackle.for example, I rearrange bedroom furniture in my girls room, finding toys and clothes to donate from my sons room. Something to keep me busy and not turn into a couch potato and most importantly..save money!

Start a small craft business
Look up new, fun recipes to make with family.
Started a garden
Exercise, music, movies, and everything in between via youtube. It's free and helps you cope with the mental impact of unemployment/ pandemic.
I have been trying to commit to things I need to purchase to mostly essentials, limit house shopping to 1 to 2 items per pay period, 1 to 2 indulgence and try to limit paying for services I can do myself at least pay less such as car cleaning. Open to suggestions as well.
Walking, organizing my house and garage (and then selling items through Facebook marketplace - moneymaker!), reading fun (free) editions of magazines online that I'd read while getting my nails or haircut done, playing free online games (soduku, others) board or card games with household family members, watching old tv series in full (MASH and Cheers are still awesome and hysterical!), cooking and baking new recipes at home (which saves a ton of money), doing adult coloring books, doing research online and bookmarking information for future vacation ideas…just to name a few.

taking free classes with FutureLearn, reading, Netflix,….all of this when I am not working from home.
It's a good time now to catch up on continuing education
I have been using this time to clean and focus on re evaluating things i want out of life. I've also been focusing on my family and reading books.
I need new ideas to help with a kid that is bored.
I started doing Littles projects in my home I been here a year and some months but have done nothing now I paint and when I have extra money I buy something for the room, I also start making brackets again as well

Learn new skill - I'm working on learning canning and pressure canning…. strawberry jam has been the easiest…. and pressure canned chicken breast requires some attention and time but it is DELICIOUS and the meat for meal is cooked so it's more just heat and assemble…..
I found a cheap pool to take my daughter and it’s fun to get out of the house.
I painted my bedroom by mixing two cans of leftover old paint I had, called it "pandemic blue." Turned out great, was free and I didn't have to go to the store.

All of our pools are closed because of covid-19
@Shannon H. That's awesome, I need to learn to can. My grandmother had shelves full of delicious stuff canned from their garden. In our current Covid situation it could be so helpful to have healthy food stocked in this way.
Here's an idea I saw online, Staycation Saturday. You watch you tube videos or movies filmed in a country you'd like to visit, say Greece. You can google and cook a greek recipe and learn about the country.
