A spreadsheet is great, but I used paper and pencil until I felt comfortable enough to begin using a spreadsheet.

That's the smart way to go using paper first then using the spreadsheet.

Thanks Debby T. I’ve been hearing to write everything down in paper FIRST

I try my best every week to stick to a budget based on my check.

Saving money is great if you can afford to do it then its the best thing you can imagine especially when an emergency comes up god forbid it does but its best to be prepared….

Setting up and sticking with a budget is hard, whether electronically or on paper. I have been able to master the process by tracking my expenses and using cash envelopes. I also challenge myself to save extra money from what I have budgeted every two weeks and at the end of the month I have been able to save an addition $100-$200 aside from my account direct deposits. The pandemic really was an eye-opener for me as to what I could easily do without or avoid purchasing during the course of a month.

I use Mint but it does have limitations. It does a nice job tracking your spendning.
