Life can be normal with PTSD. But really what is normal

The worst thing with my PTSD and depression? I feel better by shopping. And this only leads to a cycle of being short on money. 🥺

My husband is a veteran and has PTSD after almost being killed by friendly fire. I have it from dealing with some awful issues in the past. We find getting outside helps more than anything and are lucky to have 15 acres to walk on and enjoy watching wildlife. (It's very inexpensive to live out here, so don't think we're millionaires! :) Our taxes are only $600/year, but we live 20 min from a city.) I walk our trail twice a day with our rescued dog, and I focus on clearing my mind and noticing details. A few weeks ago, my dog stopped and sniffed the air. We stood quietly in the mist for about 5 minutes, when a coyote jogged past us. He was only about 15 feet away! He threw us a look over his shoulder but didn't seem to care that we were there. We hear coyotes a lot at night, but they never let us see them, so that was really special to me.
