Yes, this really work. I have a Self account and my credit when up after the first month. They do charge an amount for the service but it's worth it in the long run.

I do not think it is worth the cost. I am very fee sensitive so the cost of financial products weigh heavily in my decision to take advantage of them. Self accounts cost between $89 and $146. That will buy you a POSSIBLE credit increase. Many people have had success with it so I don't meant to discourage anyone. There are just way too many free ways to increase a credit score.

I started with a prepaid credit and after three months I got offers for real credit cards and now I have ok credit and it’s my back for an emergency or purchasing things I need that I can’t pay for right away

I agree with Shaina. Is the cost worth the return? It doesn't sound like it for my situation, but it is situation specific. If you need it, use it!

Agreed very much it’s been a month and my fiancé’s score came up by at least 100 points. It’s a great thing to have and use and follow to do.

If you have enough money you can basically do this yourself. Buy a cd and use it for loan collateral. Interest would be really low on a fully collateralized with money.

Interesting, that's a new way for me!
