Am I eligible for a credit card
@Tam, there are a lot of factors that go into credit card eligibility. And even if you are approved for a credit card, your APR and credit limit will vary depending on things like your credit history. What kind of credit card are you thinking about getting and why?
Yeah just be good
Just pay it off on time and as soon as you get paid make that a priority to pay off whatever charge is on your card or a majority of the amount. Interest builds up.
@Mailan - yes, APR is no joke I have one card that has 22% APR and I'm always sure to pay it off well before the due date because I don't want to pay even more than I owe.
@Danielle B. I learned the hard way and struggled until I finally was able to pay off my balance. If there’s one thing I wish they taught us in school, I wish it were about credit cards. They are not what I thought they would be.
@Mailan - I wish I had learned about getting OUT of debt. My folks struggled with paying their credit cards because the debt kept piling up when they couldn't pay the full amount they owed. What I learned in school was helpful, but there was definitely an extent to that helpfulness. I think the curriculum taught in schools about this focuses on steady incomes, while that's just not the case nowadays.

@Luis - You got this!! We all have to start somewhere
Who has gotten theirs?
Could I get a credit card
Could I get a credit card
I found this article on credit cards: https://www.saverlife.org/money-101/how-many-credit-cards-should-i-have
Don't use all of your credit
I got a credit card, but didn't pay much attention to it until it was maxed and then went dang it! It is almost entirely paid off now, but any new charges I make sure to pay immediately. If I don't have the money for it, I don't buy it.
It really depends if you have any credit history. If you lack credit history, you may have to get a secured credit card.
