For six months start saving your money that you spend on fast food and put it in a savings account to build interest.

I need to work on prepping food more frequently. I always intend to, but somehow never manage to. When I'm totally fried, it's just easier to grab a 2.00 burger.

I need to buy groceries instead of buying fast food and being lazing lol

i spend so much on breakfast alone. What kind i do.

You could eat at home. Maybe prep the night before, when it's not so rushed in the A.M.?
Keep it simple, a fruit, a yogurt & some granola.

Good luck!

I've been taking care of my terminally ill father, so I've definitely been spending more on fast food than usual. Still cooking at home for the most part, though. That and pizza and tacos last several meals for me. It's the burger and chicken combos that really hurt my budget

Fast food is just like cigarettes (it isn't good for you). With that being said, if you save all of your receipts for a whole week of eating out and added up the total of all your receipts. You would be surprise at how much you have been wasting on harming yourself with fast food. There are so many quick prep meals recipes out there that can help you with eating healthier and saving you money in the long run.

As someone with executive disfunction and little time, putting together simple (I mean really simple) emergency meals is handy. For example, MRE Lite and PB2 with water. MRE Lite has less calories but has good macros and good flavors. I can get protein in and not feel like I'm sabotaging my weightloss/muscle gain. The powder isn't cheap, but it's cheaper than eating poorly with convenience fast food. (Fast food is tasty and typically cheap, but it also messes with my emotional wellbeing by getting me off track with both health and money goals)

Shop at Aldi if you have one, it's significantly cheaper and good quality food. Does anyone in the family cook?

For cooking I recommend just going to those food delivery sites and use their recipes. Buy your own ingredients rather that start the service. Their recipes are easy to follow, cheap, tasty and fast.

That's a great idea, what are some of the names of them?

I also recommend Trader Joe's for affordability - also good for time-crunched people.

The Trader Ming dishes are consistently good (Kung Pao Chicken and Orange Chicken are arguably better than most Chinese restaurants near me) and I just tried the Shakshuka Starter today (delicious).

Learning to cook some easy meals is good, but Trader Joe's comes in handy for super affordable low-effort food if you have one near you.

Best advice for Trader Joe's: shop for ingredients and for easy dishes. Don't be distracted by the snacks.

Great advice, our Trader Joe's is so popular there's never a place to park (pre-pandemic) I wish we would get another location. I haven't tried the pre made meals but in general everything is so cheap and high quality. They have really nice skin care products also and the peanut butter cups, omg.
